WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL
Wildflower is the first in a network of small teacher-led, community based Montessori schools. We believe in supporting children and families through an authentic Montessori school day experience. We value time outside of school with family and community in addition to the three hour Montessori work cycle. Our teachers, Mary and Erin share a deep appreciation and respect for their practice of Montessori pedagogy and principles and have many years of teaching experience between them. Wildflower adds a strong emphasis on Music and Mindfulness, and families are encouraged to participate in the full three year experience, allowing for the full benefits of the Montessori Primary curriculum. This approach includes the kindergarten year and prepares children to enter elementary school at first grade with confidence and competence.
WHAT MAKES WILDFLOWER MONTESSORI SCHOOL UNIQUE?
EXPERIENCE TEACHERS
Our teaching team, fully trained in the Montessori Method through both AMI and AMS, brings over 40 years of combined experience to guide children on their Montessori journey. We are committed to fostering education not only as a means of learning, but as an essential aid to living.
EQUITY
We strive to create a welcoming space for all families. We are committed to dismantling systems of oppression, both within ourselves and our environment, while honoring our shared humanity and embracing both our similarities and differences. Since 2017, we have partnered with the City of Cambridge to offer full tuition coverage to qualifying families, removing the financial barrier to attending Wildflower Montessori. Most recently, we’ve joined forces with the Cambridge Preschool Program to provide a free preschool year to all four-year-olds in the city.

EMPHASIS ON MUSIC
Our Montessori music curriculum is enriched by our teachers' passion for music. Erin, a classically trained musician, enjoys sharing songs of peace, fingerplays, and movement games with the children. With a wide variety of instruments and engaging activities, we inspire children to explore the joys of music from an early age.
CLOSE-KNIT COMMUNITY
Wildflower is proud of its close-knit community, where every child and family is valued and supported. We cultivate a nurturing environment rooted in collaboration, respect, and a strong sense of belonging. Together, we create a wholesome space that fosters growth, learning, and lifelong friendships.
MINDFULNESS PRACTICE
Our teachers collaborate with a wholeness coach, Dina Amsterdam, and begin each school day with a shared mindfulness practice. They often incorporate breathing and movement techniques to help children develop self-regulation skills. We also make monthly visits to the Peace House next door, where we learn loving-kindness meditations. Currently, all of our teachers are trained yoga instructors, and children have access to yoga mats for practice throughout the day. Through mindful activities, we help children cultivate self-awareness and empathy, contributing to a peaceful and nurturing learning environment.
